Inside Robert Redford's NZ Paradise While Filming Disney's Pete's Dragon
A short helicopter flight west from Tapanui is a place called Paradise, so it's no surprise that Mr. Redford elected to enjoy a luxury escape here with his family:

  • The best way to reach a luxury resort in Paradise is by air, and Redford and family were transferred to Wyuna House by Glacier Southern Lakes Helicopters who also filmed the aerial sequences for Disney's Pete's Dragon. Their scenic flight took in the wider Southern Lakes region across jagged peaks, mountain glaciers and Milford Sound's dramatic waterfalls;

  • Immersed in a landscape that has captured the eye of many filmmakers, Wyuna Houseis a luxury villa set in a private natural reserve. Perched above the northern end of Lake Wakatipu, the schist and timber lodge has been designed to blend harmoniously into its beautiful alpine setting;

  • Just across the road from Wyuna House, the Redford family dined at New Zealand's celebrated Blanket Bay LodgeThe 13-room lodge has panoramic lake views and an award-winning kitchen– both of which have helped gain many awards, including being named as the 'World's Ultimate Escape' by the UK Sunday Times Magazine;

  • The region is one of New Zealand's most popular destinations for hikers and nature lovers, with more than 19 day walks to explore. The Redford family went on several local trails including the Diamond Creek walk.

Packers-49ers final score, takeaways: Aaron Rodgers engineers another magical comeback, rips 49ers' hearts out

Packers-49ers final score, takeaways: Aaron Rodgers engineers another magical comeback, rips 49ers' hearts out

Once again, Rodgers brought his team back from behind with a series of absurdly difficult throws into tight windows, marching them right down the field for game-tying and game-winning scores. The Packers racked up over 190 yards of offense and 17 points in the first quarter, but sputtered for the better part of the rest of the game after that. From the time Davante Adams scored with 1:58 left in the first quarter until Green Bay got the ball back down by seven points with 2:59 left in the fourth, the Packers had drives on which they ran 46 plays, gained 184 yards, and scored just six points. Green Bay was at one point 3-for-13 on third and fourth downs, with eight of their 11 third-down tries needing 10 or more yards to go for a first. They were bogging down, big time.
And then, as if flipping a switch, Rodgers took the Packers a combined 139 yards on 14 plays to score 10 points and turn a 30-23 deficit into a 33-30 victory, all inside the final three minutes of the game. Along the way, he hit Davante Adams (10 catches, 132 yards, two scores) and Equanimeous St. Brown (one monster 19-yard grab to put the Packers in field goal range) with a smattering of preposterous lasers over the top of outstretched defenders and inside windows that seemed impossible to hit until Rodgers actually hit them. It was, as they say, vintage Rodgers.
Rodgers' final laser-show brought the Packers from their own 10-yard line to the 49ers' nine-yard line, setting up kicker Mason Crosby for a game-winner from 26 yards out. Crosby had missed five kicks a week ago, and when the Packers lined up for one more play on first and goal from the nine with six seconds left on the clock, it looked like the team had not yet regained full confidence in him even after Crosby had nailed his first five kicks in this one. But all the Packers did on that snap was throw the ball out of bounds to ensure that Crosby's game-winner would go through with no time on the clock, which is exactly what happened on the very next snap.
That final drive was set up by a huge play from cornerback Kevin King, who picked off 49ers quarterback C.J. Beathard when San Fran was facing third-and-3 from the Green Bay 46-yard line. Defensive coordinator Mike Pettine brought the house on a blitz, and Beathard attempted to find Marquise Goodwin down the field for a score, as he'd done twice already on the evening. But King got great position, boxed Goodwin out, and came down with the ball. Rodgers took it from there, as he's done so many times before.

The 42-year-old actress was on a flight from Los Angeles to New York on Monday afternoon (October 15) when she got into a disagreement with flight attendants, according to TMZ.
Witnesses say Tara was loudly complaining about being given the wrong seat and was later upset about not getting a pillow. Things escalated when flight attendants tried to diffuse the situation.
The pilot reportedly pushed back from the gate but then announced he was turning around because of a customer service issue.
In a video, Tara can be seen being told she had to go and complying with the request. She eventually boarded another flight.

Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson

It's OVER: Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson call off whirlwind engagement after five months... amid claims her ex Mac Miller's death was 'breaking point' for couple

Sources told TMZ: 'Ariana was in an incredibly dark place after [Mac died]. She didn't blame herself' and his friend said she did everything she could to help him get sober
  • Pete proposed following a four-week romance with a pear-shaped engagement ring worth $100,000
  • The couple are said to have secretly ended their short romance a week ago
  • Both parties have reportedly acknowledged it 'wasn't the right time for them'
  • Over the summer the couple moved into a swanky $16million apartment
  • Ariana's ex-boyfriend Mac Miller was found dead at his home in LA in September
  • When they were last pictured together on October 10 in New York, Pete's bunny ear tattoo was covered up and had been transformed into a heart
  • It's unknown who is going to get custody of their pet pig
Singer Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson have called time on their five-month romance, according to TMZ - they got engaged after just four weeks.
Both parties have acknowledged it simply 'wasn't the right time for them', amid claims the shock death of her ex, Mac Miller on September 7, from an 'overdose,' was a 'breaking point' for the couple.
Sources say that the duo, who went public with their romance in May, 'still have love for each other, but things are over romantically.'
'She was a f***ing G to him. There could not have been anybody more supportive of him being sober than Ariana. I saw that, I was around it. I took phone calls from her. "How do I help," "what do I do?"'
Following his passing, Ariana was victimized by Mac's fans online who held her responsible for his apparent overdose.
On the day that the news broke of his death, the singer was forced to disable the comments on her Instagram account due to the vicious and vile comments by trolls.
The relationship was clearly a passionate one and in August, Pete shocked with a rather crass comment about his then, bride-to-be.
When performing at Auburn University, a fan asked him about what it's like being with Ariana.
What’s it like being engaged to Ariana?' he responded.
'It’s like what you would think it was like but, like, 100 times sicker. It’s f***ing lit. I’m a very very lucky boy, and I’m very very loved and I’m very lucky.'
'And my [manhood's] forever hard.'
Pete also spoke about Ariana on SNL, saying: ''I'm a very, very lucky guy...I get it. Some people are meant to be together and some people aren't, even if they're good people, some people are not good in relationships together. And I just think we're supposed to be together.'
He continued. 'I get it. I was j***ing off to her before I met her! I've been there. I've been in the other shoes. Who knew I was practicing this whole time [for our relationship.]?'
While things are over for now, the fiery couple haven't ruled out the possibility of rekindling their romance in the future, sources also told the site.
When the couple were last pictured together on October 10 in New York, Pete's bunny ear tattoo that he got in the summer to honor his now former flame was covered up and had been transformed into a heart.
Over the summer the couple moved into a swanky $16million apartment in Manhattan.
Pete discussed the couple's relationship and their new apartment in August during an interview with GQ.
He said: 'GQ wouldn't hit me up if I didn't recently get engaged to a super-famous person.'

MGK Is Not Dead: ‘Ligma’ Death Hoax Is Fake

MGK Is Not Dead: ‘Ligma’ Death Hoax Is Fake

Machine Gun Kelly is not dead after a death hoax spread about the Eminem-beefing rapper across Twitter on the morning of October 14. A fake news article appeared on Sunday morning claiming that MGK died from a “ligma overdose” at a recording studio. The piece claims that MGK “fell into depression” after Eminem released his diss-song about the Ohio Rapper, “Killshot.”

The article says that Kelly’s manager “suggested” MGK get help. The fake news piece goes on to say that MGK “might have overworked himself” in an effort to come back at Eminem. The article concludes by asking fans to share the article in order to promote awareness about “Ligma.” MGK was active on his Instagram story on October 13 and also posted this image in promotion of his new EP “Binge:”
MGK is not the first person to be struck down by the “ligma” death hoax. In August 2018, gamer Ninja was falsely claimed to have overdosed on the fictitious drug. In September 2018, Tekashi 6ix9ine, was also struck down.
Polygon published a lengthy article about the origin story of “ligma” in July 2018. The meme appeared on the now-deleted Instagram account, @Ninja_hater. The meme has been compared to “deez nuts.” When a person says, “What’s ligma?” The appropriate response is, “Ligma Balls.” @Ninja_Hater that the credit for how widespread the meme became is nothing to do with him. He said, “I personally like the joke and how it’s really kept the joke going, and even spread to other people… My account started over trying to mess with a friend, and then I just kept it going for fun. The whole “Ninja dying” joke was just to see how much it would spread, and to hsake up the internet community.”

Russia 2018 fairy tale in the eyes of the fans

Russia 2018 fairy tale in the eyes of the fans

  • Russia exceeded all expectations at the World Cup on home soil
  • The team’s quarter-final finish has regained the affection of the fans
  • We re-live the host’s performances through the eyes of those watching on
Imagine the expectations of a team that had lost four and won none of their previous seven fixtures heading into the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ and were ranked lowest on the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking out of the 32 competing nations
Russia have rarely impressed at international tournaments in recent history, so the fans’ pessimism prior to the World Cup on home soil was completely understandable. However, even the most optimistic supporter could not have foreseen what happened as Stanislav Cherchesov’s side defied all predictions to reach the quarter-finals, where they lost to finalists Croatia on penalties.
The memories of those extraordinary moments in June and July are still fresh in the minds of Russian supporters, who gave their perspective on the Sbornaya’s performance in the video above.
“After the first three goals we stopped asking if this was really happening,” said Gleb Milovanov, recalling Russia’s perfect start in the 5-0 victory against Saudi Arabia. “It all seemed like a dream, but nevertheless the expectations ahead of the decisive match against Egypt weren’t that high.”
Russia then went on to beat Egypt 3-1. “We started to believe in the team when we realised Russia had qualified from the group,” added Lada Alekseeva. “There was hope and an unbelievable surge in support.”

This support helped the hosts overcome Spain in the Round of 16 on penalties and then almost go the whole way against Croatia for a spot in the semi-finals. Despite eventually losing that match, the team were welcomed as heroes at the FIFA Fan Fest in Moscow.
“It’s not just that our team achieved a result that nobody expected or that they played admirably,” Gleb continued. “The most important thing was that they showed the supporters that they did it for them.”
The 2018 fairy tale is continuing for the Russian national team as they beat Turkey 2-1 away from home in the UEFA Nations League at the start of September and followed that up with a 5-1 thrashing of the Czech Republic at home. Their fans are currently on top of the world.

PayPal will soon let you withdraw cash at Walmart, but there’s a catch

PayPal will soon let you withdraw cash at Walmart, but there’s a catch

It marks the first time that PayPal users will have the ability to withdraw cash from their account in a brick-and-mortar environment, as well as load cash into their account, the payment giant said on Thursday, October 11.
To use the new service, which will be available at every Walmart in the U.S. by early November, you’ll need either the PayPal mobile app or a PayPal Cash Mastercard, which is basically a PayPal-linked debit card. The cash withdrawals and deposits can be made at the store’s service desks, ATMs, or cash registers.
Downsides? Well, each transaction will cost you $3, a not insignificant amount that will certainly add up over time if you do it regularly. While the new service may come in handy as a last resort, or for those with limited or no access to banking services, shoppers may want to avoid paying out those fees by considering other cash withdrawal options, if available.
PayPal president and CEO Dan Schulman said the initiative marked the first time for the two companies to work together on a shared service for customers. “We consider this a key collaboration for both PayPal and Walmart [and] are committed to working together to make it simple and easy for people to use PayPal cash-in and cash-out money services at every Walmart location in the U.S.,” Schulman said.
Daniel Eckert, Walmart’s senior vice president, meanwhile, said his company is committed to expanding access to such products, while making them “convenient, easy to use, and available for everyday low prices,” though some may dispute that last claim.
Eckert said that 90 percent of Americans live within 10 miles of a Walmart store, and insisted the new service will offer “great value to the many people who rely on Walmart and PayPal to help manage and move their money.”
PayPal’s partnership with Walmart follows news earlier this year that the online payments company was “nudging” some of its customers toward mainstream banking services by teaming up with small banks to offer basic banking features integrated with their PayPal accounts. The move to broaden its offerings has also seen PayPal partner with the likes of Apple, Facebook, and Skype.

Some of the youngsters were seen giggling and joking before walking down the aisle, appearing to imitate the royal trumpeters.
However, George held his hand over his ear as the musicians heralded Eugenie's arrival.

The couple travelled by carriage from St George's Chapel into Windsor, before heading for an afternoon reception hosted by the Queen in St George's Hall at the castle.
It was estimated about 3,000 people gathered to cheer Princess Eugenie and her new husband.
Rachel Price-Greenow, from Hereford, admitted she had a tear in her eye watching the couple go by.
"I got emotional!" she said. "I was quite teary. It's just lovely. I love all the pomp and sense of occasion."
Georgina Moroney, from Swindon, said: "I'm a royal geek. It's just all part of our heritage. They're fantastic - I love the romance of it all.

Tapper tears into Trump: He is harsher on Taylor Swift than Saudi Arabia

Tapper tears into Trump: He is harsher on Taylor Swift than Saudi Arabia
CNN host Jake Tapper said Friday that President Trump appears to be tougher on singer Taylor Swift than on the Saudi Arabian government
"President Trump has been harsher about Taylor Swift this week than he has about [Mohammad Bin Salman]," Tapper said on CNN's "The Lead," referring to the crown prince of Saudi Arabia.

Tapper's comment came amid reports that Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi was killed after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul earlier this month. The Post reported Thursday that the Turkish government said it has video and audio recordings that prove Khashoggi was killed.
Khashoggi went missing on Oct. 2 after he entered the Saudi consulate in Istanbul to obtain papers for his upcoming marriage.
Khashoggi was known for being an outspoken critic of the Saudi government led by Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman.
Trump has said officials in the U.S., Turkey and Saudi Arabia are "looking very hard and fast" into the situation. He also said before a rally in Ohio on Friday that he will speak with King Salman of Saudi Arabia.
But critics have argued his response hasn't been urgent enough. Tapper's reference to Swift appeared to refer to Trump's comment about the singer earlier this week, which came after he learned that she had endorsed a pair of Democratic candidates.
"Let's say that I like Taylor's music about 25% less now, OK?" Trump said Tuesday when asked about her support of Tennessee Democratic Senate candidate Phil Bredesen.
Trump is facing mounting scrutiny over what his administration will do in response to Khashoggi's disappearance.

Marsha Blackburn up 14 percent despite Taylor Swift's plea for opponent Phil Bredesen in Tennessee race

Taylor Swift's "End Game" may be to keep Marsha Blackburn from being elected to the Senate, but Tennessee voters appear to be shaking off the pop star's endorsement of her opponent.
On Sunday, Swift urged her 112 million Instagram followers to register to vote and cast their ballot for Blackburn's opponent, former governor Phil Bredesen. After her post, voter registration in Tennessee went up to 65,000 registrations in a 24-hour period. However, a new New York Times poll on Friday shows Blackburn is ahead of Bredesen by 14 points.
Swift wrote to her followers, "As much as I have in the past and would like to continue voting for women in office, I cannot support Marsha Blackburn. Her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me."
Swift said the congresswoman "voted against equal pay for women. She voted against the Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, which attempts to protect women from domestic violence, stalking, and date rape. She believes businesses have a right to refuse service to gay couples. She also believes they should not have the right to marry."

TAYLOR SWIFT BASHES BLACKBURN IN FAVOR OF TENNESSEE DEMS, BREAKING POLITICAL SILENCE
"These are not MY Tennessee values," the "Fearless" singer said online.
Swift wrote she will be voting for Bredesen for the Senate, and also for Rep. Jim Cooper, a Democrat who's running for re-election.
Blackburn told Fox Business’ Connell McShane on Wednesday she believed her constituents would not be swayed by the celebrity.
“Tennesseans are more interested in the fact that Marsha Blackburn is endorsed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, by the Fraternal Order of Police, by the Police Benevolent Association and by the National Rifle Association, where I have an ‘A’ rating and their endorsement,” Blackburn said.
In 2016, Blackburn won her House re-election race, defeating Democrat Tharon Chandler. She represented Tennessee’s 7th congressional district. Blackburn received more than 72 percent of the vote, The New York Times reported. Blackburn is running to replace Republican Sen. Bob Corker’s seat. Corker announced last year that he will be retiring from the Senate. Bredesen is running against Blackburn.
Following Swift's endorsements, President Trump told reporters on Monday that he likes her music “about 25 percent less.”
"I'm sure Taylor Swift has nothing or doesn't know anything about her," Trump said of the 28-year-old singer. "Let's say that I like Taylor's music about 25 percent less now, OK?"

Stormy Daniels' tell-all book on Trump

Stormy Daniels' tell-all book on Trump

Image result for stormy daniel
In a tell-all memoir, the pornographic actor Stormy Daniels details salacious descriptions of her time with Donald Trump, wonders if he is fit to be president and claims that he offered to cheat for her in his reality TV show.
A copy of the book, Full Disclosure, was obtained by the Guardian. In it, Daniels describes her mounting disbelief as Trump began to win primary contests in 2016 for the Republican presidential nomination. Former castmates whom she had not heard from in years, but who had heard her story about sleeping with Trump in 2006, would call her up to marvel at the news.
“It will never happen, I would say,” Daniels writes. “He doesn’t even want to be president.”
But as Trump kept winning, she writes, she began to think she might be in danger. The story she had to tell about Trump seemed more sensitive the more he won. And she had already been threatened once, years earlier, and warned never to tell the story about Trump, she has claimed.
Those moments of fear and doubt – and Daniels’ decision on the eve of the election to sign a $130,000 hush agreement – hang around a detailed description of Daniels’ alleged tryst with Trump at a celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, California. In the book, Daniels writes in sometimes excruciating detail about the president’s genitals and describes her disgust with herself for letting the scene play out.
She continued to answer Trump’s many phone calls over the next year in hopes that he would make good on his promise to put her on his reality television show, The Apprentice, Daniels writes. Trump even suggested that a cheat could be arranged to allow her to survive through more episodes of the show, she writes.
“We’ll figure out a way to get you the challenges beforehand,” she quotes him as saying. “And we can devise your technique.
“He was going to have me cheat, and it was 100 per cent his idea.”
Whenever she saw Trump on television for years afterwards, Daniels writes, an internal monologue would play out: “‘I had sex with that,’ I’d say to myself. Eech.”
Trump has denied any affair with Daniels, although he admitted to personally reimbursing his personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, for the money Daniels received in the hush agreement.
With its intensely intimate portrait of a clownish and insecure Trump, the book lands after weeks in which the White House has struggled to debunk a portrait of an outmatched and incompetent president in a separate book, Bob Woodward’s Fear, and to debunk an editorial by an anonymous administration official claiming that subordinates routinely ignore and subvert the president’s orders.
The proliferation of damning narratives have been dismissed by the White House as made-up stories, floated as a distraction, Trump claims, from his achievements. But his approval rating appears to be slumping toward the mid-30s, a historic low for presidents at a similar stage in their first terms.
Opinions about Trump’s presidency are scarce in Full Disclosure, although when Daniels tells a story about Trump growing agitated about a golf course plan she notes: “There was nothing that made him seem as petulant and prone to tantrums as he has been as president.
The crux of the book follows Daniels’ decision to go public with her story about Trump just before the election, after years of hiding the affair, she writes, from her then-husband. Going public meant that she and her daughter would be less vulnerable to attack, she reasoned. She recounts a story she has told elsewhere, of being approached by a large man in a gym parking lot in 2011 and warned not to tell the story about Trump. Trump has said the parking lot story is “a total con job”.
Beginning with Daniels’ youth as a girl named Stephanie Clifford growing up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Full Disclosure tells a vivid story of childhood poverty, neglect and abuse, including sexual abuse by a middle-aged man beginning when Daniels was nine years old. The stories are intercut with light moments such as her time with a beloved pet horse and a crush on Patrick Swayze so intense she kissed a hole in her Dirty Dancing poster.
“The deck has always been stacked against me,” she writes, but: “I own my story and the choices I made.”
The memoir narrates Daniels’ first experiences as a stripper while still in high school, and how she broke into the porn industry, through which she rose to become an award-winning director, writer and star
It was in that role that Daniels attended a celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, in 2006, where she and two colleagues greeted golfers between holes. There she first sees Trump: “He had a red cap, a Trump crest as a placeholder for the MAGA slogan not one of us could see coming.”
Trump’s bodyguard invites Daniels to dinner, which turns out to be an invitation to Trump’s penthouse, she writes, in a description of alleged events that Daniels has disclosed previously but which in the book are rendered with new and lurid detail. She describes Trump’s penis as “smaller than average” but “not freakishly small”.
He knows he has an unusual penis,” Daniels writes. “It has a huge mushroom head. Like a toadstool …
“I lay there, annoyed that I was getting fucked by a guy with Yeti pubes and a dick like the mushroom character in Mario Kart ...
“It may have been the least impressive sex I’d ever had, but clearly, he didn’t share that opinion.”
Daniels’ alleged relationship with Trump included one moment in 2007, she writes, in which she is with Trump in a hotel room watching a Shark Week broadcast on cable television when he receives a phone call from Hillary Clinton, then running against Barack Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination.
“Then, to make it crazier, Hillary Clinton called,” Daniels writes. “He had a whole conversation about the race, repeatedly mentioning ‘our plan’ ...
“Even while he was on the phone with Hillary, his attention kept going back to the sharks.”
Amid an explosion of controversy on social media on Tuesday morning after the publication of this story, Daniels’ attorney, Michael Avenatti, said on Twitter the most important thing about the book was “not the description of her sex with Mr Trump”.
It was, he said, “her description of her life and role as a modern woman unafraid to speak truth to power”.
Daniels did not comment on Tuesday but Avenatti appeared on CNN. Challenging Trump, Cohen or any other protagonist to prove otherwise, he said the book “firmly establishes my client is telling the truth”.
